Hi there guys. I Bought one of theses unit. and I didn't have to pay for any additional costs. and yes it does cum with a TC10000 motherboard. the only problem i had with the company "lilliput" was I bought the computer with a 1gb memory ram. but they were out of stock so they snuck in a 512meg ram.

I know a guy that works there ( I talk to him threw msn messenger ) and they refunded the difference of the 1gb ram. here is the web site if you need it

http://www.lilliputweb.net

oh and it werks like a charm....
if any has any more question. I can give you that person i talk to @ lilliput!!

Aisdale, how is your car pc going, have you installed it yet? I just got mine the other day, ordered it it with a 7 inch touch screen. Have not installed it yet but connected it to my monitor at home, you were right the fans are quite loud! I'm having problems with the inbuilt bluetooth, I can't seem to pair it with any of my other blueetooth devices ie Motorola V3x and my Laptop. Be interested to know if anyone out there have the same experience. Lastly, what frontend are you using? I found out that CENTRAFUSE is availble here in OZ, just don't know if this is compatible with my CoPilot Live Laptop GPS.

I havn't installed it yet unfortunatly. Still gathering some hardware GPS mouse,mini-wireless kb and a few odds and ends. My folks have been in USA and the UK the last month and a half so i've asked them to bring the items back for me as its a hell of alot cheaper than sourcing them locally.I don't want to install until I have everything I need else its gonna be a hack.

The bluetooth was 100's for me - paired it with my Nokia N80 and could connect to the internet, share files and do what ever really, I havn't tried any other device but it worked fine first time with me... I'm in South Africa - I have Centrafuse installed at the moment and its the buisness! I've found it runs better than the other Frontends, I also liked Roadrunner but I found it seemed alot slower and slugish in menu's compared to Centrafuse, maybe i didnt have it set up right *shrug* You lucky that Centrafuse has maps for OZ, I'm a bit stuck in that regard, we do have gps apps but they far from touchscreen friendly - Hench ordering the keyboard. If anyone can find one I will be SERIOUSLY impressed, i've searched hi and low eventuall gave up. The best I could find was www.handymap.co.za seems good but i downloaded the demo and a keyboard is needed for sure.

Your question about the copilot... im not too sure to be honest. There's a whole forum dedicated to Centrafuse so I recon your best bet would be to ask there and i'm sure someone will help you out.

Good luck with the install - Keen to see the pics!

Aisdale, I would still like to hear your thoughts on the audio out.

I really like the idea of an in car pc, but I would like to know what the sound to noise ratio for the audio out is before comitting. Any hi-fi options available? Dealers?

Thx

Took me a while to get back but finally got the carpc installed. Running CF 4.2,of course...

gaps to be filled.

OBDII

Destinator, OZ map

MP3 Player

...now here's the story. Initial problems encountered so far. With the TC1000,the only prog loaded is CF and I was playing MP3 while navigating...Voice prompts are all garbled in destinator. I've got 512 mem, i'll try and update all the drivers see if this will help bec. the TC1000 appears quite slow. The unit is noisy but once connected the engine noise drowns the units fan noise.

GL701-TV/C/T. There is this TERRIBLE humming noise as soon as you turn on the unit that increases with speed. Even with the unit properly grounded and noise filters connected the noise is still there. This unit comes with an analog TV tuner that does not work even with the best antenna around. FM is weak and can't pick any AM signals. Even with professional installers doing the job, I THINK the noise is inherent with this unit.

Be warned, other than the good looks, I honestly think this combination (Lilliput TC1000, GL701-TV/C/T) is a resounding DUD.

I just bought one and it's killer. I upgraded mine to an SP13000 with 512MB ram. The front buttons are programable for use in winamp which is beautiful. I can control my music without a touch screen and save some money. The front USB ports are also slick.
....

I looked at the option to upgrade my unit to SP13000 as well, but I have found that the layout of the connectors of the SP13000 and the EPIA TC-1000 are different.
Am i missing something :

SP13000 - http://www.epiacenter.com/modules.ph...howpage&pid=58

Alternator Noise - GL701-TV/C/T

GL701-TV/C/T. There is this TERRIBLE humming noise as soon as you turn on the unit that increases with speed. FM is weak and can't pick any AM signals. Even with professional installers doing the job, I THINK the noise is inherent with this unit.

I just installed same GL701-TV/C/T in my '06 Corolla and also have bad engine noise. I was about to get a noise filter from Radio Shack and also throw another ground on the chasis to see if I can get noise out. I chose this unit so that my computer-hating wife will still be able to listen to the radio without booting up the PC, so really like the setup. BTW, you just saved me $50 on a powered TV antenna for it! Thanks! Let me know if you were able to get rid of that hum please. Thanks for the write-up.
