portable dvd solution?

I have a damaged (for one reason or another) Pioneer PDV-LC10 portable DVD player. The problem is there is no sound when a movie is played, from the 1/8th video/audio out jack or from the 1/8th headphone jack. I wanted to know if there is any way I could salvage or fix this. The picture on the screen is still perfect. Could there be any way to repair the audio, or somehow circumvent the problem? If not, how hard do you think it would be to take the LCD screen apart from the rest of the unit? The screen is still great and I could just remove it and use it for as the display for a car setup with the audio coming from the computer...

Take it to your local TV repair shop...Im sure they can give you a quick estimate for repair. My old shop did headphone repairs on stereos and boom boxes for about $35 bucks.

do you think it would be easy to fix, since the unit is a bit more complex than a cdplayer, could it be fixed the same way?

what happened was we were using it in the car, hooked up to the cigarette lighter for power, and we made a pitstop, and when the ignition was cranked again, the player's screen distorted and it shut off. When it was turned back on there was no sound, so I assumed it got fried somehow..
