Pandora w/ Xenarc 700TSV and Barrel Connector

Hello all! As some of you know I am just starting out my Xenarc, Pandora, P1900 install in my G35 and I have a few questions on the connection types.

First off...

The connectors for the Xenarc and the Pandora use the same diameter connectors but with different lengths. The pandora uses a 2.5 and the Xenarc uses a 2.2mm long barrel connector.

When I connected the pandora connector to the Pandora it wasn't totally flush. When I connected the Xenarc connector to the Pandora it was flush. I haven't powered up the Pandora yet since I am still waiting for my RAM to arrive so I don't know if they are interchangable. Meaning, I don't know if the Xenarc connector will fit the Pandora.

I also picked up a Size M connector at Radio Shack. I tried to test fit the barrel connector to the wires coming from the P1900 and they didnt fit due to the wire size.

I also suck at soldering but I'm wanting to get better...

So...my first question is...what is the minimum guage wire needed to power the Pandora? Carnetix as well as a couple of other places have M sized connectors with leads on them but they are 18 guage. I don't know the guage of wire coming out of the P1900...

Will it be ok to use an 18 guage wire on the Pandora with an M sized barrrel connector? If yes, then I can pick up 2 leads...one for the Xenarc and one for the Pandora without having to solder anything.

My second question is whether or not I can use the 2.1mm connector for both the Pandora and the Xenarc.

Im not 100% sure but i think the minipc uses a 2.5mm x 5.5 dc barrel connector. The size M from radio shack definitely does not fit right, i had to put some solder around the plug to stop it from loosing contact.

ok - for power I understand.

Am I reading this post wrong? Because for a cable to go from the screen to the mobo I would think it would be a video cable, meaning VGA/DVI

Yeah...I'm talking about the

P1900 -> the Monitor
and
P1900 -> the pandora.

I want to pick up some connectors that are already set up with leads rather than cutting the existing ones. The ones that Carnetix sells use an 18 guage wire lead coming from the connector.

So...I was hoping that I could pick up two of them and use one for the monitor and one for the Pandora and conenct each to their respective wires coming out of the P1900 so I wouldnt need to make my own.

My question was basically whether or not the 18 guage wire was good enough for the pandora even though it is sold as a screen power cable.

The connector for the screen is a little longer than then the one for the Pandora but appear to have the same diameter barrel.

All that I have found so far for pre-made leads are 18 guage...

I hope this makes it a little clearer. I'll take some pics to show you all what I am talking about if that will help.

ahh - then I misunderstood. I read it like you were going barrel from PC to monitor, meaning you weren't going VGA.

That should help you decide.

Perfect! I'm only planning on using a connector with maybe a 6" lead so it looks like I will be good to go. Thanks!

Did it work?

Hello, I am also interested in finding a cable to use with the CNXP1900 and an AOPEN Pandora. I was wondering if you had any luck using the Carnetix Monitor Cable Power Cable with your Pandora. If it works, that would be great because I would also like to spare cutting apart my power adapter.
