OK
I've been looking a bit at that board...

I already have a MB896, but the one I got from mp3car is missing FireWire and the Marvell Gigabit LAN!
Because I need the FireWire for an external soundcard I can't use this board
Tried e-mailing the store, but still haven't got any reply after 6 weeks.

Hey guys,

I'm new in this forum, I found it by searching something in google.
After reading your posts I think this page could help you:

http://www.minitechnet.de/wiki_mini-itx.html

There is an overview of all existing Mini-ITX Mainboards, including links to their homepage and - if available - to a review.

Actually this page is only available in german - but I think this won't hurt to much. I don't know when they are going to translate their page and reviews...

greetings
Tob

here's a suggestion (if not discussed previously of course):

How about a sticky on complete systems. I know from experience the next Mobile Information Center (carpc) i install will entail purchasing a complete system rather than building it from scratch. Not much of a price difference and you get it all out of the box.

One system i have my eye on is the XPC X100. you can find it at:

Shuttle.com

Then there's Mini Mac but with the majority of applications running on XP, it will be a challenge. Nevertheless, it's a complete system.

And of course various others i can't think of. As i said earlier, with complete systems in place, the population of Mobile enthusiast will grow tremendously as they will feel more adequate and confident. I for one was sweating bullets when i made that first cut to my brand new car - having no idea what was i getting into. Looking back now, i'm so glad i did. I would just have done it differently.

All hail, the NY Giants

i haven't read the whole thread to see if it's already been mentioned, but the mobo from a S7620n Pavilion Slimline is Mini-ITX form factor, and is available from the hp partsurfer website. It takes Core Solo/Duo chips, and has tv out too. PN is 5188-5070 and details/specs are here. by the looks of things it's got a propritary power connector, but we are a creative bunch...i'm sure we can figure something out
