electronic engineers - identify a part for me

I managed to step on and mutilate a part on an RF keyboard receiver and I don't know what to replace it with. The part number on it is "CDBM C28"

Apparently it's a ceramic discriminator of some type, but I have searched and searched and cannot find anywhere I can order a small number of them. I know there must be other parts I can replace this with but as I don't really know much about ceramic resonators I really don't know what to look for. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give.

All that matters is for it to be a compatible part, but here's a picture nonetheless. I don't want to replace it with this part. I want to replace it with a comparable part that I can actually find for sale.

ok well here ya go.. www.allelectronics.com, www.mouser.com, www.digikey.com. theres 3 places that will have that part, with that part number printed on it, who knows, but they will definately have that part. good luck.

I know where to get it. I just need to know what to get. I don't know enough about ceramic discriminators to find a suitable part to replace it with. I know I've seen a couple of engineers around here and I'm hoping one of them can pop in and lend a hand.

This thread is already the first google hit for "cdbm c28" if that tells you how little information there is on the net about this part number.

(CDBC seems to be the surface-mount version, while CDBM is through-hole)
it is listed as:
3) Part number: CDBC455C28
a) Center frequency: 455kHz
b) Demodulation output voltage (mV): 40
c) Demodulation output voltage tolerance (mV): ±20

it seems like a rather obscure, specific-use part that you would only see in pagers, cordless phones, or RF links (most of which are mass-manufactured overseas) like the one you busted yours out of, and as a result I don't think it's highly likely that you will be able to find anything like it for sale in small quantities to consumers.

It's probably going to be cheaper and easier to buy a new keyboard.

each of the parts listed on the site i linked is specified for use with a particular IC, so I would assume the differences between them may be significant enough that they're not interchangeable... however, those are pretty cheap so it wouldn't be too expensive to give them a try...
