Powering Slim External DVD - Laptop CarPC

I'm running a laptop as my car pc, and I want to mount an external Slim DVD drive in my glove box. Since my laptop does not have the traditionl molex 5v power sources/connectors I can't tap off them to power my DVD drive.

This is what I have for the car at the moment:
- Laptop powered off DC cigarette adapter
- LCD TS powered off supplied DC cigarette adapter
- USB GPS mouse

As you can see, I'm not using any power supply or inverter to drive my devices, at least not yet. I've searched the forum and can only see you guys running power from your PSU 5v rail directly to your external drive.

How are guys with laptop carpc's doing this?

If I need to power many things, I'd need one for each device. Correct?

Also, this just hooks straight to a 12V DC power source and ground if used alone?

You'd only need enough of those to supply the required power for all of the 5v devices.....
And yes, it connects directly to +12v from the car.

Sweet. Finally, then if I have multiple items, 1/2 of which are 5v, and 1/2 of which are 7.5v I'd need two of them? In other words. I need one of those devices for every voltage I need to output?
