M10k stopped POSTing

Well I had a fresh new install of Windows XP on my system with an M10k mobo. I powered down the system and tried installing my Pioneer DVR-K05 slim dvd drive using a USB enclosure. It could detect the USB enclosure but for some reason would not detect the drive. The drive powered up and down and accepted/rejected discs just fine. So I tried to install it instead with a 40 pin to IDE connector. I used it first in my desktop and it worked just fine detecting and using the K05 dvd drive. I then plugged it in to my carputer system, hit the power button, and got that loud annoying beeping noise telling me that something isn't connected correctly. I power down the system, unplug the drive, and try booting it up again. Same freaking beep, no POST, no boot. I've tried just about everything I can think of, but I can't make heads nor tails of why my machine stopped working even without the DVD drive plugged in or installed. Can anyone help me out!?

Is there a pattern to the beeps. It should be giving a code by the number of beeps.

It beeps once every few seconds. Where can I find what these beeps mean? I didn't see anything in the manual.
