video card question

I need a tvout card for my screen. I'm wondering what people recommend. I was gonna just upgrade my desktop and take out that ati rage 128 32meg card. In my display settings I can only go to 600x600 which is odd to me. My cpu is gonna probably be a 800mhz duron. I need it to do dvd decoding. THats why i just might use the one from my computer.. but can anyone recommend a good card to use?

Well, if your going to use DVD, I feel the ATI cards right now offer the best visuals you are going to get. I have read the nVidia cards are going to offer hardware decoding as well, but I have never seen it in action. I use an ATI All-In-Wonder radeon PCI card and it has the best display I have seen for DVD...with a TV out on a PCI card, that is.

600x600...did you mean 800x600?

I have an ATI All in wonder 128 32mb and I had that problem. I updated the drivers from ATI's website (don't use the MS drivers) and now I can go to 1600x1200 if I wanted.
