I've not had much luck with my hp pavilion laptop ze1110motherboards. Don't seem to be built well. . .not the usual experience I have with hp laptops. I was wondering if anyone knows of a laptop motherboard model that would have the following specs:
1. at least 2 ghz or better pentium 4 or equivalent
2. Takes 16, 18, or 19 volts DC input
3. Major: Can take a hard drive without purchasing a hard drive cage. . .doesn't have a specialized plug on it such as the omnibook 900 line does. I already have a 44 pin hard disk and want to use it or even possibly build a cable and use a regular 3.5" hard disk with it some way.
I'd like a laptop motherboard since they draw less wattage and I can use my carnetix psu with it. I can find a motherboard off ebay, but the hard drive interface is an issue with some. I have a mini atx pentium 4 3.0 hyperthreading motherboard, but it looks like after researching it is going to draw a lot of current (around 211 watts using the calculator on
