Found the amp of my dreams!

Here is the amp that will power Scoobie-puter 1.0

Decided on the amp I'm going to use.

5x50 Watts +1x400 Watts @ 4 Ohm
5x100 Watts + 1x500 Watts @ 2 Ohm
24dB Low-Pass crossover
continuously variable crossover HP/BP/LP
24 dB Continuously Subsonic filter
24 dB Continuously High-Pass filter
Crossed-Over Auxiliary output
Variable Twin "T" bass EQ.
Built-In dual cooling fans
Low-Pass Level Control (LPL)
Monitoring Port (RDDP/RMD)
1 Ohm Stable

New version coming out soon...

Unless that's it, PG is supposed to come out with a new competition amp in September...I read it back in May, but those specs look the same. Might be it. Either way, looks pretty tight.

"One amp needed" ...hahaha. Sure only one needed, but there's always room for another! I recall you saying that you want to compete? What category? That's gonna give you some sweet crisp beats all around, but you're gonna get blown away in loudest system category if you dont put something else in.

SPL is for simple minded people. Reminds me of a rednecks famous last words. "Hey ya'll, watch this!"

I'm going for sound quality. This should be great for that use. Don't worry, I'll be representing the MP3Car.com crew at IASCA!

Sometimes 'all-in-one' amps aren't the best way to go. You'll find that most competition people will be running seperate amps for their different components... even the SQ guys.

However, that does look like a pretty phat amp.

5+1=7? Must be that public school math.

What are you using the fifth channel for? A center midbass or something would need more power wouldn't it?

Looks good though. I would love to have a pheonix gold, just can't afford it right now.

8 * 65watts Bridgable to give the following configurations.. :::

4 * 200watts
OR
2 * 400watts
OR
1 * 800watts
OR
any combonation of these... e.g....

2 * 200watts and 4 * 65watts
2 * 200watts and 1 * 400watts
1 * 200watts and 6 * 65watts
1 * 400watts and 4 * 65watts

and, more.. lol (I was bored one day) perhaps I should see if I can get this to work, if I can sell em for about $1600 Australian, thats pretty good money.. lol

I've got a rockford fosgate 360.6 from 3-4 years ago. 6x30w. Useing it at 2x60w & 2x30w, lots of power. It's nice to have a seperate sub amp, balance the power. That's why I've also got a 500.2, 2x250w or like 1200w bridged @ 2ohm

Actually it's more like this.

5 x 50 Watts at 4 Ohms
2 x 200 Watts at 4 Ohms

or

5 x 100 Watts at 2 Ohms
2 x 250 Watts at 2 Ohms

or

5 x 50 Watts at 4 Ohms
1 x 400 Watts at 4 Ohms (Bridged)

As for the fifth channel, somthing has to drive the center channel in a 5.1 system right? This is Phoenix Gold's new multimedia amp. It's designed for mobile DVD setups. :P

Front Left, Front Right, Center, Rear Left, Rear Right, Subs.
It's one ohm stable too for the subs. I've been using two seperate amps. One Rockford and one Crossfire in my Explorer. I'm wanting to take my next system to a new level so I'm going to start using pro grade parts. It's a shame PPI is out of business.
