Jippie... & pictures
Hi all,
just wanted to let you know that I'm finally driving my '81 citroen 2cv. After a year of restoring the car, and another half year of desining building and redesigningin it, I finally took it out of it's shelter.
I'm loving it! just drove around for about 2 hours with earplugs in my.. uhm well ears, letting the 1000Watt RMS rip and everything works great.
Ok found out that I really do need a bigger alternator, the second the bass started pumping my batteryindicator wend straight into the red so that's no good.
Also I need to alter my software that interfaces with my LCD, as artist/songs/albums with an " on the letters get screwed up... DJ Tiësto was something like DJ Ti§sto. ok minor glitch.
Bigger problem is that the PC boots slower & won't shutdown if I disconnect the TFT. Now it was my intention of first totally complete my car before driving it, but it's such nice wether I just couldn't resist cruising around with the top down any longer... When the weather changes I'll start redesigning the fold mechanism for my TFT and build in the DVD, for now I just can't stop smiling when I'm in my 2CV, sun beating down on my head, the bass thumping in my back.....
Life is great............

Sounds great man! Post some pics. Show off that hardwork! Do you have any caps on those sub amps. That might be all you need.

Hey Marsjell !!
Sounds great..
But driving a 2cv brings a couple off question....
The roof is detachable isn't it ? and its made of 'linnen' ?(sorry bad english spel.)
Does it stay dry on the inside of the car ? you know when we had those 'hoosbuien' a couple off weeks ago..
(I'm just concerned about your equipment getting wet... that's all)
Greetz.

hm I'm offended... as usual... in holland the nickname for a 2cv is "lelijk eendje" => ugly duckling.... so you're not the first person who thinks it's ugly
personally, I don't agree... It's not ugly it has personallity.
I'll ask a friend to take a picture when I'm taking a corner... it'll make you laugh... for sure...

I don't, I have clocked my celeron 950 back to 6... uhm something it stays pretty cool, haven't had any problems yet. I'm more concerned about my amps, as they are the real heater...I'm just gonna keep driving until my pc crashes. I was planning on using 2 fans. one blowing, one sucking on each corner of the board where everything is in connected, but forgot about it and started carpetting, now I don't know how to make the holes and keep it looking nice.
