OMG, the ideas I have now, lol. Also imagine if it had a GPS tracker, Lo Jack, and best of all, an alarm that sounds like someone getting raped that screams and all. So not only will the theif be unable to get far fast, but people will rush to the car to see whats happening and most likely get the criminals.

I'm gonna humbly disagree with this one. If we don't fight back, they will keep on coming. I wonder if the guy who almost (or did) lose some digits stole after that?

If they are going to do the damage anyway (steal the system/components), I wanna make sure I get a piece of them one way or another.

2 anything you do to hurt the thief in the process will only add to more damage, think of how enraged you'd be if someone did something to hurt you...

I know a guy, many years ago, had an old vette that he used to park on the street. car had a shaft radio, basically you took 2 nuts off from the front, then reached in & slid it out from behind. he had his radio stolen several times he was sick of it. his plan, make a cover under the radio filed with razor blades epoxied to it.

one day, as he's walking to his car, he could tell something just wasn't rght... first he noticed all the Windows were blown out, then he noticed all the tires were slashed, the whole car was keyed & the interior was sliced up... as he walked to the side of the car he saw all the blood in the center console area...

lesson learned, if your not going to actually kill them or totally incapacitate the thief, do not booby trap your ride...

second story that's hearsay, but it was in the news so I believe it to be true. a guy had his pickup truck stolen, got it back, then it was stolen again. he then took a sawed off shotgun & put it under the dash when he parked it, & had a wire go to the trigger to brake pedal (brilliant I know) one day he was fighting with his wife she grabbed her keys stormed out of the house... but evidently she grabbed his keys by accident, she didn't want to go back in(we can assume this was a violent individual already at this point) so she decided to jump in his pickup truck... well, you can guess the rest, he no longer has a wife, & he was locked up too... was the pickup truck worth that?

moral of the story, well, you figure it out

God you know how to kill a moment!

there are ways to fight back & then there are ways to fight back.... ****ing off & hurting someone who already has no regard for your personal property usually will result in more loss. the whole idea behind protection is to minimise loss, not to increase the chances of even more loss..

go youtube and search "volvo orgasm alarm" it has been done, as a joke.

In Russia, big cities, car thieves are smart nowadays, there are ways to copy the signal your pager sends to the car, when you lock it, then resend the signal again, once you are gone, and disarming the alarm with no sweat, giving the thieves all the time in the world to steal your car or valuables. In that case, none of the methods above will work, unless you somehow manage to videotape him or catch him right on spot.

any decent & most newer alarms are code hopping, they do not deactivate with the same signal that activated it.

To add further, it doesn't have to be on the same system as your general car alarm. Put in a subsystem that *can't* be deactivated by remote control. There's always a way around it.

We didn't hurt them. We made them cry and jolted them enough to knock their gold fillings out. LOL

I like to minimize total loss through deterrence.
