Mac Mini/Aopen mounting cradle

I found this in the back of MacWorld magazine. It's a cradle which lets you mount a Mac mini (or similarly sized PC) from under a desk, or in my case, from the inside roof of my trunk. I created my own a few months ago out of a piece of metal shielding from inside a dead NES, but for $40, this is a little cleaner of a job and also adds a 4 port USB hub to the front. Worth checking out.

Thumbs up Excellent-- Finally!

Excellent find, thanassius!

This is close to what I'd been looking for, especially for the price. It's inexpensive enough, in fact, that for me it was worth buying one immediately. Should be able to modify this into a solid dock, I imagine. And the USB ports are sure to be most handy indeed!

Thanks for the post!

Excellent! Glad to be able to help. It definitely looks much cleaner and well put together than the one I made...

I believe that the dimensions of this would make it suitable for the AOpen and similar ultra-mini PC models...

Anyone with one of those models confirm/deny that?

If this mounting hardware would work for another miniPC, then it shouldn't be pigeonholed only for you Mac Mini guys.

I thought you Mac guys were all about sharing the love and stuff.

Fair enough, but I'll change the title of the thread so people won't think it applies only to the Mac.

Groovy.

Yes, a nice find, not too bad a price.
I have my mini already mounted, but I think I that would make a good start for mounting other components such as a few USB drives.
