PC Won't Boot Intermittently.

Hi guys,

Im experiencing a problem on a new install where sometimes when you turn the key to turn the PC on, the motherbaord fan comes on and so does the screen but the screen shows "no signal" but never finds a signal.

The system is:

M2 ATX
Lex/Jetway BNO86T
Lilliput screen powered via molex.
2.5" HDD

Basically the system boots properly 2/3 times but then the remaining 1/3 the above happens.
The only way to get round it is to keep disconnecting power and trying to turn on again and eventually it starts properly or one time i removed CMOS battery and it worked but might be coincidental.

I have tried lugging my huge CRT monitor outside and plugging it in when the problem occurs and this also receives no signal.

This leaves me to beleive it is the mobo or possibly PSU but the M2 came direct form a working machine.

I have also tried turning it on without the HDD attached and still no difference.

Anyone know of any issues that may cause this?????

I think i may try and find a EPIA board instead because i already have one of those in my other car which works flawlessley.

Thanks guys.

This may be helpful... honestly, I did it read the thread because it doesn't pertain to me at all, but it could give you some helpful search tips if not the answer.

I think this looks like it could be the problem.

Unfortunatley i bought my mobo 2nd hand so i dont know where i stand in terms of a replacement/fix.

I just ran into this same problem with a M2ATX and D201GLY. I unplugged the M2ATX to move it then plugged it back it and it never worked again. I bought a new M2ATX and now I have this problem.

Goes in and out of hibernation then all of a sudden, nothing. I've even taken it into the house and used a standard PSU and still had the problem. I think when the M2 went it might have damaged the MB.

I had the same issue towards the end of my first install..... I figured it was the MoBo, but found it was the M2-ATX. On install number 2, the M2-ATX was too under powered so I had to upgrade to a OPUS 320 anyways.

I've had that same thought but I've had the same setup M2ATX/D201GLY for over a year and didn't have any problems. I did add a powered USB hub but even with that disconnected I still have the same problem. I've ordered a replacement motherboard so we'll see in a couple of days.
