Question cd rom to go

I'm new to this bulletin board and i'm in the process of building a carputer to play mp3's. But what do you guys do if you want to play a cd that is not stored in your hard drive as an mp3. I plan on using just a dvd drive to play movies as part of my system, so i'm wondering if a cd will skip while driving. In the short time i've been here, i have just about had all my questions answered!

Cool

For a more complete answer, do a search. It may skip, it may not. Depends on the drive. And it won't skip in the way you think it will (ie. like an old record). CD or DVD skipping will result in a crash, blue screen of death, or blue screen asking you to clean the media. Skipping could also mean long wait times and access errors.
