Probably should call the police and report a stolen eee. Check with the neighbors to see if they borrowed it. Do you have brothers/sisters/wife/husband/kids that could have taken off with it?

EDIT: Oh sorry, I should really read these thread titles.

Have you checked in your power settings to see if the standby and hibernate options are still there?

It almost sounds like you lost ACPI functionality... check in the device manager under system devices for either an ACPI device with a yellow exclamation, or see if you're missing ACPI devices all together.

Check to make sure your video drivers aren't screwed up. That can make hibernation at least disappear.

That'll do it. You need a video driver for that stuff to work.

(silly eh?)

Theres a HUGE difference between a driver and a tray app. Just remove the tray app from startup but leave the driver installed. It will either be in the startup folder or in the registry's run key.

He's saying you can remove the tray app without removing the drivers so they don't conflict. This will allow you to keep your standby/hibernate.

I know i have tried that already. It was running with out the tray and did some searching and said the resolution has to be picked through there. So i found it started it and did not help.
