SONY, Pioneer and other manufacturers are already developing flexable color video monitors. It'll be at least 3 to 6 years before the actual product can be purchased. Sanyo has been working on a organic display for a few years now. So far they've made a 10.4" working model. The 10.4" with housing is about a quarter inch thick and their 5.6" bare screen is about 2mm to 3mm thick. Organic display has no backlight. It produces light on its own. The cable can be up to 3 meters from the control board. Sanyo rep told me that tThe life span of the organic display is only 4000 hours. They're still working on ways to extend that life to at least 25000 hours before releasing to the public.
