XM Radio Changes

For those with XM Radio service.


In case you didn't already know XM announced some changes yesterday at CES.


Starting Feb. 1st ALL music channels will be 100% commercial free!

Also starting Feb. 1st there are going to be some changes to the channel lineup.

Addtions:
Highway 16 – Top Country Hits
Blend 25 – Adult Contemporary
Fungus 53 – Punk / Hardcore / Ska
Lucy -54 Classic Alt Hits
MSNBC 130 - News

Moving:
Spirit: To channel 33
Fine Tuning: To channel 49
MTV: To Channel 155
VH1: To channel 156

Going to be Deleted:
Vibra, Tejano, Aguila, C Net (finally!), Special X

In March, 21 channels carrying local traffic and weather information for the following cities will be added: NYC, PHILLY, BALT., DC, PITTS, DETROIT, CHICAGO, ST. LOUIS, SAN FRAN, LA, PHOENIX, DALLAS FT.W., HOUSTON, TAMPA ST/P, ORLANDO

Later on in the year some addtional cities will be added: BOSTON, MINN/ST PAUL, SEATTLE, SAN DIEGO, ATLANTA, MIAMI/FT LAUD.

They also announced they will be broadcasting some content in 5.1 surround sound. No details yet on how they plan to deliver the 5.1 signal.
