orinoco silver won't work w/xp!!

Hey all,

I'm having trouble getting xp to work with my orinoco silver client. Anyone have this issue? xp recognizes it as an orinoco adapter, but no native drivers. Also, i downloaded some drivers from driverguide.com, but I can't get them to go either. Can anyone lend me a hand?

Thanks!

http://www.agere.com for propser Orinoco drivers and the client tool.

But XP should have its own drivers too...

would it make a diff that it's orinoco silver as opposed to gold? I wouldn't think that it should

Mine is silver and it's fine. I'd try the official drivers.

I've used my silver with XP for years. I too have observed the drivers (included with XP and/or those from Lucent/Orinoco/Agere) to be a bit flaky. You have to make sure you have matching drivers and card firmware, IIRC.
