my experience with extreme audio -BAD....

right I bought a lilliput off them for $269 back in september i think... it didnt work so with their permission I opened it up and reconnected the TS wires and it worked then... but the din plug was crap so I binned it and joined the wires myself... obviously this invalidated the warranty. after about a week of working fine the screen decided it didnt want to turn on... so I opened it up and noticed some of the printed pcb by the power connector had peeled off and corroded. -and so I asked extreme audio to help me by fitting a new controller board -which I would pay for... this went on until about feb when I ordered another one off them but they sent the wrong one (non TS). they gave me a discount but I still don't have what I wanted. all the way through this -in pretty much every email I sent I reminded them not to throw away my old screen as I didnt see the point in binning a perfectly good tft and touch panel. It seems they for some reason or other ignored me and now "can't get it back". I paid $140 for the new controller boards and they tried to send me them on their own.. wtf is the point in that with no tft?

Now they are offering me the $140 back and nothing for the original screen.. I couldve sold the tft and touch panel/casing on here and got something for it fs. Im now at a loss of $269 + $180 + $140 and have ended up with a non touchscreen lilliput. Im not overly impressed to say the least.

I offered them options of
1. retrieve my tft as previously AGREED -and send me the controller board I paid for
2. just send me a new screen if you have lost my old one
3.refund me the $140 plus compensation for the old screen (I think 50% is reasonable).

they have ignored this and are just offering me the $140. What can I do?

I have to recommend that if you buy a lilliput stay well away from extreme-audio (on ebay) as they have wasted a lot of my money and now months and months later I am left with the wrong product and no help offered.

I have all the emails saved btw and they did agree to not dispose of my tft on numerous occasions... is there any way I can get compensation for this treatment?

Send them this post! Based off your information, I will not be purchasing a LCD from them, unless they come clean and do what's right! I'm tired of business selling crap, and leaving people hold their d*ck in their hand. The most successfull business' have great customer support, and based on their customer support will lead those customers to give a good review, in turn others will buy or not buy based off of that report.

Since you have access to a huge majority of people that want to buy these products, you need to let people know not to get screwed.

Personally, i had a great time working with these guys. They sent me my screen quick (paid friday night -> Wend morning it's on my table in Canada), works perfectly fine for me, no problems nor complaints at all. It sounds like you're just having one of those 'everything goes wrong' experiences with them. I dont want to discredit nor praise them beyond what they are, but as a thought.. Most people that come here to look for screens end up reading these posts and saying "oh. well, they suck!". While in all reality if everyone who recieved a great screen would post the news, I'm sure it would be an overwhelming positive response.

It happens. Just a thought.

Yeah, I have to say that my experience with Extreme was outstanding. I bought it Wednesday afternoon and got it Saturday morning. After a few weeks, the cable wasn't making a good connection, so I sent Ray an email about it and he sent me a new cable free of charge. I've had this thing open and apart at least a dozen times, and it's worked great ever since.

Sorry that you're having a hard time with them, but wouldn't feel right if this turned into a bashing without some fair representation. Good luck with your strife!
