That can not always be an easy thing. There is alot larger range in those p2p networks yet you have the problem that it is being infested with curruped files, slow downloads etc. I have not seen such a problem on large, yet the download speed is never all that great even when downloading from many people.
If you can avoid using it, and only use p2p networks as a last resort.

On this topic, what does everyone use?
90% of my music is on prerecorded CD, but there's the occasional song I want that's either too old to buy or just hard to find. I also like previewing tracks. I used to listen to the radio a lot, so I'd hear the new music that way. Now I just check the radio's website to see what's new, and d/l them.
This doesn't need to turn into a for/against downloads debate, just suggestions and thoughts.

the problem with kazaa is that you only really download from a select group with the file.. its terribly inefficiant.

kazaa is infested with adware...i've probably fixed a dozen computers (including my own) in my hall here at college because they had 1000+ files that were either due to adware or spyware, etc. since deleting kazaa off my computer and downloading warez ( www.warez.com) i have had no problems with a slow/crashing computer.

I don't use any of those networks anymore, except for Winmx. I only use it for DL'ing one file, or something small. If the $hit hits the fan about copywrite infrigement, I don't want my IP provider to dime me out. I dont use the networks for big stuff, I use BitTorrent.

kazaa != kazaa lite
kazaa lite is kazaa, with all the spyware removed. kazaa caught onto this reverse engineering and changed their P2P process; that is why kazaa lite is so underground right now.
