Thumbs up 2000 S-10 Xtreme Install

Phase 1 Complete

BookPC in custom box on my std cab S-10 Xtreme.

Last a buddy and I finally installed it, didn't have much space to work with but it went in well. My custom box fit real nicely around bookPC and stands where the jack box used to be, alot of cables but you cannot see any of them now. First road test went well, the rf modulator works better than expected but still ****es me off you can have audio in on a delco deck(on cassete adapter). Aside from all this it looks great and the whole thing runs smooth, ive got pics of preinstall on url below, final install pics will be up tonite.

Things left to do

Fuse 12v line ( hahah ill do it)
Wire in illuminated toggle switch for Amp

PICTURES of PREINSTALL( complete ones will be there tonite)

2000 S-10 Xteme Setup

Cheers , Frezno AIM: Kinnish0

Looks good. Just hide the wire that goes from the LCD to the cig lighter. Maybe hard wire it.

so what happened to the First computer in the Plexi Case? That looked so much cooler than the BookPC in an enclosure....but I understand if something happened as it always does to me......

That screen is really cool, but you do need to hide the wire.

I still dont get putting the BookPC in an enclosure. Please explain the thinking. Was it for a function? To make it level with the sub? or maybe just to match the sub's enclosure?

I don't think I could've done a better install on a standard-cab, and I totally agree with the "No clutter = no progress"

Wizard PC: Thankx for commenting , at least someone cares

Reason for bookpc is space, at first i planned to get a jeep to use plexi case and all, eventually i figured out i had to keep truck a bit longer. I used enclosure to make bookpc a bit more presentable and look cleaner( and to hide cables)> as for the LCD cable, i gotta keep that out in the open for now and the 12v plugin you see is for rf modulator. I think my lcd might be bad , the backlit anyway, once that is fixed ill mount it on dash. All in all this is the first phase of an ongoing quest. > more comments / suggestions needed

Great work for such a small back seat. I agree though, that wire going to the LCD has to go.
