laptop: toshiba r100 or dell 300m

hi, i'm going to be purchasing a laptop soon and i am probably going to get one of these two. i will be using this as a personal computer and also maybe hooking it up to an lcd screen in the car as a carputer. the reason for the dell is because the price is pretty good and dell is a good company..i think. for the toshiba, i like it because it's thin and my uncle can get me up to 35% discount on their products. i was just wondering if any of you guys have any input on these two laptops? thanks guys! also i am open to suggestions.

well i was going to say dell parts were cheap but im not sure if they will be cheaper than a discounted toshiba part, you will probably find more parts around for dell because a lot of people use them, I have and still do use a few dells, never had a problem, a friend of mine had a toshiba that went dead on him like 1 year after he bought it, so I have kind of satyed away from toshiba, but thats just my experience, you could also look at sony's they are real small and have great media support, they are a lil pricy but I love mine

does anybody know what happened to the dell 300m, i don't see it on their website anymore
