video not working in windows

i have a computer that has no video when windows boots up.
The video card is fine, it works in the bios, and if i boot the computer to safe mode it works fine. It appears to possibly be a driver issue.

The stats on the machine
biostar m7ncg motherboard w/ everything onboard
amd 1700 xp
windows xp media center

I know the computer works fine, because im currently using it as a mp3 player for my car. I can boot into windows w/ no video and play the mp3s and such, i can control the computer w/ the matrix orbital display, just no video when i hook it up to a monitor.

any ideas as to what may be causing this? how would i go about replacing the driver if need be?

you most likely have your video set to something out of range of the monitor. boot into vga mode or safe mode and set your resolution/refresh rate to somthing elese.

I had a power issue with mine, after I installed a second hard drive. When I removed the second hard drive the unit worked fine and booted into windows. And the second hard drive did not have windows on it :-P Might be something for you to look into.
