Aww Man, you should have....
How many people have heard this?? It's not so much the "haters" but your friends that have their own opinions on what you should have done to make your project look or perform better. I can't tell you how many people get in my Jeep, say "holy ****, man, that's awesome, I can't believe you did this!" and then quickly follow up with a "you know what you should have done?". Most of the things I've heard have been completely off the wall, too. I'm thinking (and sometimes saying) STFU, you have no idea how much thought and work went into this.
What's worse is when one of your friend's suggestions is actually a good one. Then I'm left thinking "why the fugg didn't you say something 5 months ago when I was dreaming all this **** up?"
Just ranting a little... but yesterday a good bud of mine insisted that I should have used the "wood grain sticker kits" to cover the lilliput rather than the countless hours I spent fiberglassing and bondoing it into the dash.

You'll find that most of these people rank in the lower 20% of the friends group and can be safely cut at the end of the year.
Love me.

I mostly get: "aww man, you shouldntve done this at all". Perhaps i'd get less if i didnt integrate a small digital LCD display in my dash that tallied up the running cost of my project.

If you could buy a Porsche or a house, what would you choose. Some would say the house, some would say the Porsche. Actually both are fine, it's just what you prefer to spend your money on.

You know what they say....
You can SLEEP in your CAR, but you can't RACE your HOUSE.
It would be nice if more people believed in constructive criticism instead of destructive. At least occasionally you'll get a good brainstorm for the next version. Oh yes, there WILL be a next version...
Cheers,
Kris

"How can you drive and not look at the visulations" or..

I get the "Why do you want that in the car?" and "What's wrong with a map?" or "You're just encouraging people to break into your car".
