anyone know how many DIN a 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo is?

i've got a 98 jeep grand cherokee laredo.. and i'm wondering how many DIN slots it has... i haven't found any exact specs anywhere... and i've seen various discussions on the net calling it either 1.5 or 2 DIN... so anyone have anything definitive?

also -- anyone know if digitalww's indash housing for the lilliput is a standard DIN...

and if the jeep is 1.5 din and digitalww's is 1 din, does anyone know a 1/2 din headunit?

I believe the setup is very close to the 1999 models (wj) in which the head unit is a little bigger than a 1din, but the bezel takes up a full double din slot. Just pull it out and see. On most of the jeeps you can do this with nothing more than a putty knife to pry the outside bezel off.

the in-dash housing is a standard 1-DIN, but keep in mind it does not come with any mounting hardware. Don't know if it will make a difference for you or not, but just so you know...
