Thumbs up One Just for the Real Geeks...

For ****s and giggles (and a few file transfers), I networked my VanPuter, laptop, and tower through a hub. Theoretically, you could play 3 player LAN games in my van. Theoretically only because the VanPuter doesn't have any LAN-capable games on it. It could probably only handle WarCraft 3 and Quake 3 (and stuff on that level). The tower is hooked to all the monitors with a KVM switch. The hub is running through the LAN in my company warehouse.

And although it ain't 5.1, there's something unique about playing UT2k4 & Doom 3 through a 1000W car stereo system.

Oh yeah, it would.

To hide most of the wires, though, I'd need to finally get around to building that whole new center console.

I'm lazy.

hehehehe

You can always route wires and cables under carpet and paneling for now.

Well the whole network thing is temporary, just for like a week. And the rest... er... see previous post.

So you must be the real reason for those rolling blackouts in CA
Do you tow a deisel powered generator behind you to power your rig?
just kidding. If I still had my old Suburban, I would have more electronics in it than Best Buy!

Ahaha... nah... right now I've got an extension cord going into the warehouse that powers the workstation, but I can run it off the inverter if I wanted, probably for a couple hours. The power supply hums SO freakin' loud when I plug it into the inverter.

After seeing your van on here so much I am convinced of one thing - my next car WILL be a van! However, the only thing that might hold me back would be the gas mileage of a beast like that. Granted, my suv doesn't get great gas mileage, but I bet your car probably gets worse? I get about the same MPG in my Rodeo as I used to get in my '93 Z. But I actually spend less money to keep the Rodeo on the road, because I don't have to use premium gas. Crazy!
