can Xbox use CD slot?

Hi, I'm new here. I am planning to add a modded xbox to my car. I am going to put in a custom dash and was going to integrate the CD tray from the xbox into the dash while mounting the rest of the xbox somewhere else. Now I have another idea though that I'm not sure if it is possible. Can I make it use a vacuum loading type slot instead of a sliding tray and then mount that into my dash? Could this be done on a PS2 as well?

the xbox dvdrom drive is special......the discs spin counter clockwise and they read from the outside edge to the inside. Certain modifications can be made to certain drives to allow you to use a higher quality dvd-rom drive

you would be able to do this, but you would need to extend the power cable which is not a regular pc power cable and also extend the ide cable.....

It's very very hard to do. Probabaly not worth the effort. I'd replace the drive's bezel with a steathed one. Hold it into the dash. No button either. Just press the right spot on the dash and part of it pops open. Done. It would be a sick mod.

If you don't know what drive steathing is, it's easy and the look can be sweet. See this <-- that one doesn't look so nice, but you can see how it would in a dash.
