Custom Rave XPC!

Well, 1st off, I haven't goten my XPC yet. But I did order 48 bucks of stuff to have fun with the guts from FrozenCPU
  • Dual 4" Cold Cathode UV Bulbs W/Red UV Sleved Power Wires
  • 3ft Red UV Reactive 1/2" Nylon Cable Sleve
  • 3ft Red UV Reactive 1/4" Nylon Cable Sleve
  • 1ft Red UV Reactive 1/8" Nylon Cable Sleve
  • 10" Green UV Rounded Single Device ATA-133 Cable ( I meant to order 2, 1HDD and 1DVDRW )
  • 5 4Pin FireFly Green LED's

Well the idea is to be colorful, but give it somewhat of a theme. So my plan is for ALL Data cables be UV Reactive Green, Sleved or not. All Power Cables will be Sleved UV Reactive Red. I accidentaly ordered Green Firefly's, I meant to order red. Since those go in the power connectors and light them up. Ohh well....they are cheap...so I'll order like all the colors later.

I found out all the tracks on the XPC motherboard (the little wires inside the board) somewhat are UV Reactive....they probably aren't, but they show up that way. My camera is dead, so I'm gonna locate a power connector I can rig to work to power my camera so I can take pictures of all the supplies. So you guys should get an idea of how cool this isgoing to look.

That sounds sweet. I was thinking of buying some of the fireflys for my car puter and main pc. So tell me what you think about them.

I love the UV reactive pc stuff, I cant wait for pics.

I read somewhere that you can trace the circuits with some certain type of pen and it glows under UV. Saw a few pics that looked pretty tight. I don't know if it messes anything up tho

well, I hooked the stuff up inside my curent computer since I'm soo nosy and couldn't wait...the firefly's....they are very low technology....they have a problem getting a connection...so I gotta figure out a way to get them to work...even if I have to permenatly put them into the hard drive and dvd drive. Some connect allright, but others, like my 80gb hard drive, wont work.....I have to push down on the connection and then it turns on, then it turns off.

The UV Stuff, DAYUM that stuff rocks! they look soo nice.....They are too small for this case they are in, but that wont last long, they will be going inside of the XPC soon...I just gotta figure out where to mount things...since some things are ugly....ohh well I'll figure it out. I'll try to take pics tomorow night if I can find the cable for my digi cam.

Allright, this friday I will have the including for you guys:
XPC Build Pics
UV Sleeving Pics
System Properties Screen Shots (WindowsXP Media Center 2004)
Desktop Screen Shot
My Review On The XPC SN41G2V2

My camera doesn't have a UV Filter, so I'll do my best to get things lit up inside that you can get an idea of what it looks like.

Teaser Pic!

Here's a teaser pic. Nothing is fully installed into the XPC yet. I have managed to injure myself to where I can hardly speak however. The sleving is going good, The backing up of my software and what not is still underway. And some nifty modifications you guys might love are allready done.

Remember, this is with about 25% of the UV stuff installed and the UV bulbs aren't even mounted.

Been there done that.

Note: Keep the inverter for the cold cathodes far far away from the motherboard/ide cables. I was getting data corruption and failed boots and broken hibernation images.

I have all my cables sheathed with UV reactive Blue and heatshrinked (looks clean) with a UV Cold Cathode. It looks cool
