I recommend taking away the special Quantum drive recommendation. Their shock protection system doesn't implement anything that all drive manufacturers don't implement during drive operation. They have some extras for non-operating, but the tolerances are already pretty high there.
I recommend adding a recommendation of laptop hard drives. They typically can handle 6x-10x the operating shock and draw less power and create less heat.

its a good start bgoodman. Maybe you should look at talking submissions from others to fill in some of the blanks..... I know that myself and others would be keen to help out. If a few of the more experenced users pumped out a few lines each, we should get a very full/rich FAQ in no time...... and should hopefully bring your workload down to a simple cut/paste job.
Or are their any good FAQ compiling software packages/programs that allows for user submission?

jshrieve: I meant to do that in the first place but I guess I missed it
magnetik: i've added an email address for additions at the bottom of the page.
there are some software packages that allow for user submissin, but I find them useless because to add to them you have to register for an account and they are hard to navigate.
remember there is http://faq.mp3car.com that nester got started up

and on style..... you havta drop the times new roman!!!! I hate it!!! hehehe! maybe I could add a mp3car.com FAQ style submission!!!
overall.... its great that you have the get-up-n-go to start this FAQ going!!! bravo to you bgoodman..

Please watch the language. You will see that this forum contains very little swearing. Can't say this about other forums on the Net...

I've gotten one submission so far that doubled the size of the FAQ but, I also this process can be made easier by way of CGI scripts. I'm going to try something that will have Q and A fields and a submit button. It's just that I need a script behind this for it to work properly. Who wants to help me out with this?

Nice Job bgoodman & jose. Now i have a question that the FAQ solved.
Quote:
Q: How do I connect a laptop cd-rom drive to my computer?
A: Laptop cd-rom drives have a 44 pin connector to carry power and data. You can buy a converter which lets you hook a standard IDE cable and molex power connector up to the
drive for under $20.
where do i get this connector from. Now if i can find a cheap laptop DVD cdrom cheap
