Ai-Net and XBOX and other ideas

Hi,

I have decided to go down the route of using a modified xbox as my carputer.

Completed so far:

* Modify XBOX with XBMC and Custom Car-Friendly Skins
* Install internal 12 volt PSU and Custom ITPS for XBOX SMC functions (fan speed, system temp, clock backup, etc)
* Install standard in-dash TFT
* Install tank circuit to power ITPS instead of constant 12v from main battery

All is working fine, except i want more

Does anyone know the format for Ai-NET commands, so that I can use the XBOX's i2c bus so that I can change track and view track info on my Alpine head unit? I have enough programming knowledge to make use of the xbox internal i2c (I am a console engineer), but have no idea of the Ai-Net protocol.

If i decide to go down the route of GPS on the XBOX, is there a GOOD freeware (or cheapware) Sat-Nav package for Linux? I know it will be too hard to make it work under the XOS kernel since it doesnt natively support most true USB devices, but under linux, this would be an option I would like to consider.

All in all, I am very happy with the system. My xbox runs perfectly with a modified internal DC-DC converter rated at 50W and with the ITPS code modified, my xbox is the perfect carputer

If anyone else has done anything similar and would like to share experiences so I can refine my design, I would be most interested to hear from you.

Cheers

Gavroche
