Post Car audio install idea/tips [PIC]

The fm-mod and my stock chrysler deck is mudering my sound quality from my carpc. So ive decided to go in for a new car audio system. Here's my plan...

-I am set on two 10" Eclipse 88100DVC subs.

-I would like a top quality amp for around $350US to power both these speakers to a good level-Can anyone suggest a top notch amp for "around" this price. I would prefer just one amp, not multiple. Would a Rockford Fosgate Power 500.1 or a Punch 500 be able to handle both the subs?

-I am set on the Clarion DXZ615 Headunit, can i wire up my stock speakers to the headunit and use deckpower? (its 200w, 50x4)

i plan to do all the work myself, and i dont really know Anything at the moment, other than basic wiring. So if u have tips to what kind of stuff i need (fuses, types of wires, etc etc etc) please let me know...

Vic

1) are the Subs 4ohm coils or 2 ohm coils?

2) A good amp that i like is the sony 225x2 xplod from like 1-2 years ago. it's stable down to 1400x1 at one ohm, and sounds great. If the subs are dual 2 ohm, you would get 225 watts a channel, and if they are dual 4 ohm, wired in parallel you will get, i think, 600x2. The RF you mentioned would be ok if you can get a good deal on it, but you will run, at best, 250x2 if its bridged.

3) Depends on the speakers. You probably CAN, but you probably dont WANT to. I'd be a better idea to pick up some nice pioneer 3 ways front and rear off of ebay for around $50 a pair if you really want good sound quality...... OEM systems are not known for their SQ

I would recomend AT LEAST 8 guage, preferably 4 guage for that amp (i know i cannot spell) a basic radio shack or rockford fosgate from best buy wiring kit for 4 guage wire will come with everything that you need, such as speaker wire, RCAs, remote turn on wire, etc.

If you have any more questions - you can reach me at AGoodbar@charter.net or on AIM as AGoodbar (I like to keep my names simple )

Whew..... My fingers Hurt.....

Car audio........fun stuff. I would think the rockford amp would be just fine for the subs. But my preference would be to find a Phoenix Gold XS 2500 (or its newer equivilent) It will put out 500 watts rms into 2 or 4 ohms. I ran two RF 12" DVC's with it until I sold everything to finance my car mp3 project. Good Luck.

RF Punchs can handle anything that you give to it. I have seen 500.2 run at 0.25 ohm driving 18 subs (12in) doing around 151Dbs.
So you can be sure they will drive your 2 10in

one thing is very sure: the rockford will ROCK YA BOX !
the power 500 is indeed as fosgate stated, very powerfull and virtually indistrucable.
i havent seen one die yet.
but i do prefer the sound of the "old" oval black rockford amps over the new ones the "spacy" models
