I've had the banging on the car thing - ******* annoying isn't it? You'd be forgiven if you'd driven straight into them though - I certainly wouldn't look down on you if you did....

Nice story ricky u handeled that well
It was my first car crash so i dont know how i can get better in that type of situation lol
My friend said she wasn't surprised as its very hard to get me scared or worked up but still i almost died would of expected the hands to shake.
Prob why the people who came out to see if i was ok were shocked how calm i was. oh well thats good i guess
Brrman sorry to see the car was damaged so much what did happen id like to know to i hope u didnt get hurt?
Oh yeah i just got the Wheel alinment and all is well was out of wack but its fixed now altho my front left wheel seems to give off alot of road noise than normal so i'll get that checked out to as if my stereo is half way up i can still hear it altho i do relise that i did hit that wheel pretty bad so i dont expect it to be like it use to be still that doesn't sound right but thats a lucky save
Cost me $39 for the wheel alinment so the new wheels is the only costly thing but they look great on my car

Actually - a guy ran across my green light and I t-boned him. A big 3-ton utility truck. My nose went under him, but he continued to move and drove over the front of my car. I was fine - the car handled the accident well and crumpled where it was supposed to. It's half the reason I bought another audi.

Agreed. I used to drive Saab 900 Turbo.
Saabs and Volvos are really (and I do mean really) creash safe, especially the old flying Wardrobe types. About 1.5 tonnes of metal in for what is US terms very small cars.
They actively test them for front and side impacts by swedish Elks (big nastier and a lot heavier than the North American variety), and for roll overs and rear end shunts because of the winter road conditions demanding proper studded snow tyres for several months a year.

And just how do they do that? Throw elks at the car - run them over?

Very close.
They have a 1.5 tonne rubber (with steel skeleton) elk that can be both swung on a chain, and rolled on rollers.
They test it on the chain for it going through the windscreen if it's legs are taken from under it, and on rails upto 30mph for A pillar and side impacts.
Have a google for Elk test, and then filter out anything to do with A class Mercs rolling over as that is the Elk Avoidance test. Completly different.
As they normally get hit at night, avoidance is the last thing you have a chance to do, so Saab and Volvo test for Elk impact survival instead.

Just an update guys
I got the car booked in to get serviced and i need my front and rear wheel bearings replaced on the left side.
Problem is the rear wheel bearing isnt single its connected to a hub which is gonna cost me $880 so now iv gotta pay $1200 all up for the car to get fixed and pay for labour and the ***** of a thing is i just payed $400 for quad muffler tips on a sports exhaust
And i have to pay $700 for the Xenarc and dash case from armen (if he gets the cases in anytime soon???)
so yeah im bloody broke now and i have to buy everyone xmas presents
But 1 good thing is i found a guy who will give me the case for the stock subwoofer in the probe so im gonna mount my carputer inside that and hook it on the other side of the car in the boot so it has sub on 1 side pc on the other so thats 1 good thing.....

Why not customize your trunk. Probe's trunks just ask for that. I don't think it'll be that expensive.

Cause I want to use the trunk AKA Boot when i need to besides if i do it this way the boot looks stock and no1 who brakes in will really look at it that much plus it evens out the boot
The reason i dont want to customise the boot is i want it to all look stock.
And parts are to rare to replace if i stuff up.
Only other thing i thought of was to out the PC in the space saver tyre under the carpet then plexi the top cut the carpet to say probe and then u can see through the carpet to the pc and the neons light up the outline of the carpet to make it a cool glowing probe logo
but i need the tyre

Well son of a *****. Its like we are all the prisoners, non of us commited the crime but we're here anyway. My analagy referes to, all of us had car pcs, but werent using them at the time of the accident.
Anyway, when i had my 97 explorer, I flipped it avoiding another car. I was going about 40 or so...back roads (speed limit is 35 back there) and a car came over the center lane. I went off to the "shoulder" to avoid the accident, and went up the enbankment (trees and durt enbankment). Missed a telephone pole by about 5 feet when my tie-rods snapped and I flipped onto the drivers side.

I was actually involved (well, not really involved) in a hit-n-run recently. I was parked at my college campus, and I went go turn in some homework to my class and then leave. 25 minutes later, I come back to my car and drive home (My house is like 10 minutes away from campus so not a large commute). I get back to my house and my neighbor asks me "What happend to your car?!?!" I then say, "What do you mean?!?" He tells me too look at my passenger side, I do and I see the the 2 passenger side doors are severely indented. I'm sure this didn't happen at my house because I park on the passenger side of the driveway, and I hadn't left the house for a a couple of days.
I guess that someone must have hit me while getting in to a parking space or getting out of it. I filed a report with campus PD and they filled a report with the local PD. Still to this day have not had any info regarding what happened. I hate people that don't leave notes when they bang into your car. ****es me off.
Mean while, $2500 later, I got the car repainted (A different color) and fixed on the outside. Insurance paid for everything but, still I had to pay the $500 deductable. My guess is that either the person was just a (&*^*&^ ******* or they just didn't have insurance so they didn't leave a note or anything.
But, as NIN said, at least no one got hurt (I think). I will try to post before and after pics when I have some time.
Peace and drive safe please,
Rafster
