I've got about 40 gig's, but that's only because I had a friend fill up a 40 gig hard drive for me. I want more!!! if anyone here has a large collection & would be willing to put it on a hard drive for me I'd be willing to pay $$$. I'd send you a new drive & you could send it back full, anyone interested pm me, as I'd gladly pay for this. my music interests vary from rap to disco to rock, & everything inbetween, let me know whatcha' got. this goes for video's as well.....

I don't have any illegal (stolen) MP3s.

I just finished ripping all of my CDs to my HDD.

Turned out to be:
382 CDs
96 Artists
3,460 tracks
19.3 GB @ 192 kbps VBR

I feel inadequate with my 10.7 gigs of music iTunes says I have ~2900 songs, but when I checked my two folders, there's a difference of ~600. (Should have close to ~3500 songs.)

Still trying to get my music back up to the collection I had it at before all my CDs were stolen out of my car.

windows puts alot hidden files in ur folders.. if u load up the folder insomething that will show them. (if u got nero use the file manager in that) and u will notice there will be a few hidden coverart files, a thumbnails file and all sorts of other crap per folder..

thats poble where the other 600 is coming from,.

^^ You're probably right... I checked again, I have ~300 artists which means ~2 hidden files per folder. I guess that makes better sense.

Thanks.

I have 78 GB (About 20,000 songs all diff bit rates) of which I probably listen to about 10 gig IF that. All that it means is that I cant put it on random as 80 percent of the music that plays I fast forward or is crap. I have alot of radio broadcasts and stuff in there along with standup like Eddie Murphy Delirious and what not. Classics for long car rides

What you need to do is create a bunch of playlists by genre or band or even year... Whatever you want... then drill down to them... they will load the list of songs and you can select what you wish to hear from there.
Works for me but due to a HEATER CORE EXPLOSION INSIDE my car.. I had to rip out the entire dashboard and my MP3Car is currently in disarray....
Sad day for that of the Mustang... Sad day indeed....

Impressive!!! Most of mine are legal as well... But I have alot of unsigned bands or my own personal music on there too. Most of the CD's that I had were either stolen from Ex's of mine or old evil friends when I left the room. So if you are like me.. You have a collection of all the CD's nobody wanted and you never listen to. Thats why I am happy that the underground has taught us the ways of the backup
