Answering Questions

Alright, I am new to this forum (and to forums in general) so I am having a little problem with the way people answer threads. If there is a question posted, a noticable minority of people feels it is necessary to share their opinion about it, yet offer nothing constructive.
I am not talking about telling people to "search" or "google" something, I am talking about people making comments like "boring" or making unrelated side comments about the question. There is a saying, which many of you know, "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything." In the case of this forum, I think it would be better to say "If you can't say anything productive, don't say anything" If you think that rephrasing the question would help, do make that kind of input, but if you just "disagree" with it (yes, strangely enough some people disagree with questions, as impossible as that seems) just read the thread and move on. I think if a person has no input on the issue, they don't have to let everyone know about it by posting a useless comment.

I think the usless comments can be avoided if there was a built in chat room on this site, poeple could create rooms and discuss things verbally and that will eventually dissapear... posts could still be made but they would probably become more educational.

I agree Rushn. This, I think, has already subsided quite a bit. Seems like it used to be much worse.

Anyone that has been here a while will likely agree, the reason newbies get flamed is because they ask the same questions that are asked daily. When nobody replies, the newbies start getting angry and become a$$'s because we wont talk to them and hold their hands and do it all for them. I was a newbie once also, but I read around on the forums, and before I made my first post I knew 3 things....

1) Lilliputs are a love/hate item
2) Opus IS the answer, else build your own
3) you cant say **********, but you can cuss just fine

From those 3 simple facts, newbies can begin to ask new and original questions, and maybe then their feelers wont get hurt too bad when someone asks if they searched first.

You know, I still wonder what's under those asterisks. I agree...that's why I have so few posts...I read a LOT of posts. I've been here since 4x40's were the big thing and NTSC lcd's were a big deal.

Any way, I just added another useless post. Oops.

Sorry, but you seem to have missed the point of my post, I was not talking about the newbie flaming, I was talking about the flat out useless posts that get posted to newbies and long term members alike. I got the newbie part, I see no problem with that.
