I plugged in my only spare ATX psu that was working when it was put away. I plugged in the ATX connector, and that's it. Switched the PSU "on" and keyboard LEDs light up. Short the PWR_ON+ and PWR_ON- and I get nothing. Did I try to start it up correctly?

Have you tried reconnecting a normal switch to the mobo and trying this to boot up?

Oh and is the cmos jumper back in the right place?

If the keyboard lights up for a second then the standby rail seems to be working.

what does the opus 2 flash code mean?

sounds like its dead!

last resort after double checking everything would be forcing the PSU to start by shorting out the correct pins in the ATX block (middle green to a black i think but i would check that)

I don't have any normal switches to try, so I just short the two wires out.

If it's dead... I'll kick myself in the head a few times.. but I hope I can figure out how it got dead.

Okay folks, here's a lesson from Uncle Bailey. Do NOT let this happen to you.

Do not work 11 hour shift, come home all excited to see your final carputer items sitting at the doorway, and go right at it. First you must get washed up, eat something, have a drink, go smoke a cig if you're into that, rest up and relax. THEN start very slowly connecting everything. If something doesn't work, go smoke another cig, THINK and calm down.

I was shorting the wrong pins. No excuse for it. I'm very sorry everybody. Another lesson learned.

I guess, somewhere in the back of my mind, I know these carputer parts are very delicate... I'm just waiting for something to blow up. I'm not gonna think that way for another second. I just gotta have patience.
