Where are all these visitors linking from?

At the time of writing there are over 600 people viewing these forums including 535 guests, nearly 400 of which are in the General hardware discussion forum!!!!

Have the forums been linked from CNN or something

Can any of the admins tell where all these people are coming from out of curiosity?

I've just thought, it could have been search engine bots as the board has gone to normal usage again.

Another board I read just got crashed by a bot program that creates several hundred guest users on message boards and does god only knows what while it's there.

Careful.

If there are lots of IP's starting with 66. then it will be GoogleBot.

Google has been going mad the last week or so doing LOTS of deep crawls. EVEN ON TINY SITES like my personal site.

Something to do with the no "nofollow" tag and a new Adwords that is coming out.

If not, then I dont know why all the "visitors" are here.

There is a virus going round that infect MySQL systems, could be something to do with that, not sure though, there is a 'BOT' stopper on the vbulletin website to stop the BOTs being able to trawl through the forums.

Ah yes, there is a phpbb "worm" that was patched recently, dont think it should effect these boards though.
