Word of thanks.

Just got back from a weekend roadtrip to Vegas and back. This was the first time i've used my carputer for an extended period of time (about 3.5 hours each way), and the whole trip was awesome! The trip was about as smooth as I could have hoped for and everything ran perfectly (except for my amp overheating about 3 hours into it, but that was a minor issue).

In any case, I just wanted to give thanks to all the fantastic people on this board who've contributed. The mp3car community is awesome, and my project certainly could not have been completed w/o all the great people here to help out. Extra thanks go to Veetid for releasing centrafuse, Zorro for his fantastic software (getting an audio cue of who's calling while racing down the 15 is an awesome feature... ), and 0|33| for gracefully helping me out w/ questions and problems.

Everybody needs a carputer

oops, guess the 'l's weren't pipes... i figure I should know better by now...

nope, i didn't end up swapping the voices... they still sound weird.. haha. I figure its probably gonna take a good day of tweaking to get them done properly... I'll just have to live w/ the different voices for now.

a little bit of both actually... Ultimately, I think a lot of it has to do w/ the voice engines i'm experimenting with. I'm hoping to find a good set of voices to use.

Yeh, it has a lot to do with the voice engine. I *think* that AT&T voices do a "breathe" before speaking. So that's why it sounds weird with the computer taking a breath at every word.
