Not to mention that a Mac mini would be a rubbish carputer. Size isn't everything.

I recommend you read the posts in the Mac part of the forum before firing off yet another dumb generality. And if you actually think that your statement is entirely true, you should attach your own analysis, with real PROS and real CONS of making Mac Mini into a carputer. If you provide enough sound arguments (after researching of course), then your opinion will have more merit than something that came out of your ***.

Your even more newb than the guy who posted this thread lol

The mac mini is EXACTLY the same as a PC

it has different software but it is all the same and there is nothing the mac can't do that a pc can't do.

You do need to search instead of pushing your pc rules mac sucks attitude

For the record i'm a pc guy and no i don't have or even use macs but i'm not so close minded to see what it can do and what it will do in the coming months

*hears music* Dum dum dum a newbie bites the dust

now all is well

A base Mac Mini @ 1.25GHz G4 w/ 256MB PC2700 DDR Ram could run circles around a similar system based on the x86 architecture. The G4 processor is generally much more powerful than the x86 alternative. I know based on data presented in class that a G4 @ 800MHz is approximately 50% more powerful than a P4 @ 1.7GHz. Even if that is not 100% accurate, it still shows that the G4 is a superior processor and that the Mac Mini is definitely not "rubbish."

64 Bit Rules The Kingdom!

I do gotta admit, I played with a Cube a few years back that came with a huge widescreen monitor..that thing was like a Mini ITX system and had a slot driven dvdrom, and that sucker was fast! But I know nada about mac's. I can fix pretty much anything, including mac, but I still dont know shish about them. I'm a PC Person.

Well, I believe the G4 is a 32bit based processor, while the G5 is 64bit. However, the G4 architecture outperforms the x86 architecture depending on the task. Of course their will be exceptions, but generally the G4 will outperform the P4...

Nah, it stopped being a flamewar, and started to become a more factual thread...
