2000 Jeep Wrangler + Tuffy overhead console

Hey all. For all of you Wrangler owners who have wondered if you can fit a small PC into the Tuffy dual OHC:

I've just gotten my Tuffy overhead console, and have determined (via a cardboard mockup [read: cut-up cereal boxes + tape]) that the Travla C-134 will fit into the rear mounting location! It sticks out about 1" to the rear, but the unit can close with about 1/4" of clearance. Waiting for my caseoutlet.com order now; going to put a slot-load Panasonic drive into it.

Will have pics up by the weekend, provided everything is delivered on time!

yea i looked at that idea also, just didn't like the looks of the console.

this spring i'll be fabricating my own console similar to the design of the bestop one that comes with the tinted top pieces that will hold my camera LCD.

I'm not *thrilled* by the look of the console either - its not pretty, but its not ugly, and is functional, and its nice to be able to have the 2 DIN-sized openings available like that. And its nice that I don't have to [try to] fabricate one myself.

Took a chance on the C134 fitting in there - wasn't sure that it would. Definitely doesn't fit in the front housing. Would've put *something* in there if it hadn't fit in the rear, but I lucked out.

Now I have to fabricate a cage for my RAID array, to stick under the center console, where the subwoofer ought to be.
