new security idea
hey about this...has anyone seen the james bond movie tomorrow never dies? Well u no hte part when he hides the thing in his beemer and locks it. Then those big gus come to jack his car but cant. Well this will be sweet, im pretty sure u can do this but it would be aweosme if u could lock ur car so if anyone touches the door latch they get shocked. Also if they somehow get into the car, the security wil go off and the hydralics will be activated. After that almost every part of the car inside (including seats) will shock the person. Has anyone thought of this idea?I'm sure there is a way to implement it. Also after all of that has been activated the pc is turned on by a relay and it will immidiately inform the police via gps.

its kind of been covered in other topics here { Razor Blades } your main problem would be being sued by the theif.
even adding a "risk of elecricution dont touch my F@#ing car" type sign would still result in a lawsuit, id think unfortunatly
Devils advocate: some old woman fall over next to you car and grabs the handle for support because her walker fell down
sucks tho id love to wire up a tranformer to my handles

However... my situation is that my system in a way is more valuble than the vehicle but as a side not a nice security feature would be a nice loud pa system announcement (already have the PA) that comes on after the alarm is triggered and verbally warns the theif "This vehicle will apply a 600 watt charge to all door releases and the doors will shut (via actuators) in 30 seconds you as well as all people in the general area are encouraged to leave the general vicinity immediatly and please notify the authorities if you are hearing this message" at that point on an electronic antenna motor a camera is raised with a 360 degree field of view and begins recording the scene...

How about this: instead of having your car alarm horn under the hood, face it into the passenger compartment! Who wants try to steal your car while they're going deaf???
Edit: and use airhorns..

I've seen one that does shock the person in the drivers seat if the car is started without the key or the alarm deactivated.

Or, have your 12" LCD start playing movies automatically on startup. Highly illegal and any cop is sure to pull the thief over!
Awesome ideas, though. The external shocker is likely a bad idea, if even possible. But, what's the problem with shocking someone once they've gotten inside of your car!?!?! Ha Ha!
How about filling your car with Halon so they can't breathe!

Nice! Or you could use a combination of all the suggestions so far. And if you set up a cam to record it, the resulting movie could be the next installment in the "Home Alone" series!

Does anyone on here remember an old Phrack article about wiring your alternator up to a coat-hanger and shocking the car in front of you? It talked about a way to hook up some component of your electrical system (I doubt it was the alternator) to a straightened coat hanger. You would point the coat hanger tip straight and touch it to the steel bumper of the car in front of you (this is obviously old school). You could rev your engine and it would create a charge on the vehicle's chassis and when the user next grounded themselves on the car they would get shocked to hell (ala static shock x 10).
Anyway, it was a long time ago; and I'm totally dating myself here - yowsa.

I wanted to design a system that would stab anyone sitting in the driver or passenger seat when my alarm went off but then i thought it was a little bit overkill.
If you have ever been broken into and got ur stuff stolen, you will have noticed that the thieves don't give a **** about your car, they will break every panel on your dashboard to get to your deck. If the theives would get shocked, they would break every window and wreck the body of your car with a baseball bat for revenge. The best theif deterent is noise and flashy lights or anything that draws attention to your car.
It always nice dreaming about modding your car to give the thieves a hard time. Hehehe stab shock bounce burn alive !!....

if you electrified the car, the thief would just be able to get a stick or something to open the door, or put some rubber gloves on.
