Sorry im starting a forum and im pretty sure i could find out what i need if i searched hard enough. But its kinda specific:
ok, so i have a acer travelmate 520iT laptop, 2X25 watt (RMS) amp, pioneer headunit (with NO aux in), ****loads of all types of cabling, and a whole bunch of questions:
The pioneer is directly powering my 6" in my door panels and the rear rca is going to the amp.
firstly
i read about a fm modulator direct cable connection... do i need a signal filter if i get one of these? cos i dont want **** sound quality and more boxes hanging off all the cabling.
what other ways could i connect my stereo to my computer.
if i connect my laptop to my amplifier i only get the rear speakers, do you guys know of any passive rca switches with volume control, so i can change to the laptop and quickly change volume instead of changing in windows or going into the boot of my car.
also how hot do the inverters get. because looks like im going to be using an inverter to power my computer, which already has a chunky transformer on it. = a lot of heat.
can i mount the laptop directly to the floor or should i make some shock dampening suspension?
how would i auto start the laptop, i tried the wake on lan thing, but that only works for sleep mode and not hibernate, and i would drain the laptop batts if i did it this way. shutting down the laptop isnt a prob..
i also ripped the laptop apart to find out if i could wire up a power s/w or a vol control, without any success - got any ideas?
And one last thing, would my amp still be able to run effectively if i run a 300W inverter to my laptop? (my amp is only a 2X25 watt).
(this is also asuming im using the same power cable from the battery for both the amp and the inverter.) its a think guage, but id doubt the laptop would use more than 100W right?
and dont say:
cos i tried
