Terraserver

Access to aerial imagery - does anyone know a way or a tool to get to a more detailed image than the preview before buying? I've been waiting for updated images where my house is and it seems there is finally an update but the preview is so far out to be almost useless. I'd like to see it at a decent resolution before coughing up cash for a picture.

Does anyone know of other services that fromt-end Terraserver maybe? The image in question is in Northern Massachusetts and was taken in 2003.

Um, not sure how good a resolution you're looking for, but...
You can get sateliite imagery for free. Including color .25meter resolution if you live in an urban area. Search on here for USAPhotomaps and that should give you a jumping off point.

Good luck.

I'm beginning to think the new image they have isn't so great. On the USAPhotoMaps site I can see my house when zoomed out but as I zoom in the new clearer image switches to one from 2000 and my house isn't there any more. On another site it zoomed on the 2003 image but the quality was poor when it got to .5m resolution. Looks like I might have to wait a few more years until some more pictures are taken.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Better than Terraserver, IMO.

Depending where you live, USGS offers good imagery (urban areas) and can be found at:

http://seamless.usgs.gov/website/seamless/viewer.php

Its good data for free plus there is other data avaliable there if you need it.
