VWs MkIV owners, power cable under the seat?

So I have a 99.5 Golf, and recently as I was digging under the seats looking for my beer (j/k), I noticed a cable that has two sort of molex connectors on it. My car has manually adjusting seats, so my guess is that the cables are there for the power seats.
I was wondering if the cables are useful and if anyone used them before. I haven't had a chance to plug a multimeter in there, so don't know if they are even connected. Any input appreciated.

Probably air bag, power seat, heated seat connectors.

I have a '03 and that cable hooks up to my heated seats. Theres a fuse for it in the box on the drivers side. If there isn't a fuse there add one (not sure if its a generic accessory line or what) and check to see if that cable gets any power.

Good luck!

In my car, there are unused connectors like that in the engine bay. What electrical things could possibly be in the engine bay that are optional? My car is pretty high up the spec-chain as far as accessories go... all I can think of it might be a link to the ECU for the models of my car that have turbos as standard. Who knows?
