Exclamation Large magnets and Heavy vibrations

I am debating whether or not I should sell the two rockford fosgate 12" DVC's I have in my trunk for two reasons. I am afraid that the large magnets might have a bad effect on my comp which will be close by, and more importantly, I am afraid that the constant pounding from the subs will destroy my hard drive. I am hoping that someone else had dealt with similar situations or could tell me what is the best solution. Thanks

There are a few other people here with subs and computers. Keep the computer a few feet away, and you should be fine

just for the record, i mounted both my power supply as my computer and even my harddisc INSIDE my subbox.
it has been running for a few weeks now and it still works fine.
i was worried about the magnetic field of the subwoofer to kill the data on my hd but havent noticed anything yet.
scandisc doesnt reveile any problems either.
the only way i can get my harddisc to skip is to do some "rally" driving style which is never recommended on the streets

will keep you guys posted if anythin might change in the situation (read:if all data and mp3's are suddenly "lost")

That seems amazing to me... I mean the magnets are HUGE. But even more astounding is that the vibration from the subs doesn't kill the hard drive.

Here are my audio specs of relevence:

2 12" RF DVC's running off of a 1000 watt load coming from a Pheonix Gold XS 2500 wired at a stable 2 ohm load.

this is one thing that scares me i put 4 12" subs in there and hit over 130 spl in the car now. i cant imagine the pressure levels in the trunk or the magnet fields in the trunk. As for mounting your pc inside your sub box i dont think thats a good idea cause ive seen subs hit and crack mdf wood if there not braced boxes so u dont want to think of what presure goes on inside the box.
has anyone had the bass wreck any cheap lcds.

yes thats kindoff extreme yes, i am running an pioneer 10" sub on a rockford fosgate power amp.
it rocks as hell but i wanted a system that my ears can hande (and keep handeling for a longer time )
my first setup was the same amp on 2 12" RF dvc buut it was too loud in my opinion and when the mp3 computer in the car thingy crossed my mind, i switched to the 10" pioneer.
really dont have any problems due to the magnetic fields (yet?) .

nobody had problems with magnetic fields?
I'm not sure if I should even try.. (DD audio 9515.. 300oz magnet) with 2000watts at the moment, approaching 150db (that's in the front of the car.. who knows what the presure is like in the back of the car)
I'll just be using a standard HD, is it gonna live? also.. I need ideas on a better power supply, with the current amp setup my car voltage can drop below 12v at full power
(approx 2kw @ 50% efficiency @ 12ish V = 300+ amps of current draw)

im running 1x12" kenwood putting out a lot of bass next to my computer, and i mean next, the only prevention i have is a sheet of metal inside the sub box preventing magnetism.
