I once had 4 rims....you won't believe this!!!!

Exactly 5 days after my truck was broken into, I still had four rims. Thursday night I was out with my friend 'Crazy Steve' at QUO in NYC, and when we left decided to stop for Cubanos on Dykman Avenue. We made a left turn just when we got off the highway, and heard what sounded like a flat although we definately didn't hit anything nor have I ever!! Next, the front right side of my truck dropped to the floor, and we see my rim and tire sailing down the block...After 20 minutes of hysterical laughter, we realized that this actually could have been serious had we still been on the highway....we figured death for sure. Finally after waiting under the 'EL' for 2 1/2 hours and after a huge terradactile **** came through my sunroof all over me, the flatbed truck came, and towed us to a service station. The moral of the story is this....never ever buy TSW rims again (I had 22" TSW Sluggers), and if anything like this ever does happen to you, it is a damn good excuse to get new 24" or possibly even 26" rims. Thank you all, and please spread the word....

Pics are broken for me :/

Would a thief actually be nice enough to reattach rims? Wouldn't that be like stealing your stereo and leaving a thank you note? Glad nobody got hurt!

Did you have locking lugnuts on your rims? A buddy of mine had a similar problem, driving down the street and saw something shinny fly by the window. After about the third one, he realized it was his lug nuts. Went to pull over, rim came off, grinding via the disc brake to a stop. Ouch

I had a friend that got his truck broken into. His speakers and headunit were stolen. He had to go to class though just after he discovered this. For the most part it's just a straight drive. However, making a right turn into the school parking lot he said the rear driver's side of the truck slammed down, something banged his door, then he saw his rear wheel/tire bounce by.

Turns out the theifs tried to jack his wheels to but discovered he had lock nuts and just left the other lug nuts loose or off. He hadn't noticed th is and during some stress of a turn on the wheels one just popped off, bounced into his door and left a big dent and then went on its way.

I'm willing to bet that's what happened to you too. You had a couple lug nuts loose and overtime the rattling and stress of turns either turned em the rest of the way off or popped them off. I'm glad you're okay.

Note to self: Always check lug nuts monthly.
