and so it begins...

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've been here, mostly because up till recently I didn't have a car. But now I do!

Here's what my project begins with...

That is my brand new 2005 Pontiac Sunfire

At the moment I have no real car pc to speak of, the car has only the factory am/fm radio. Right now I'm using my Compaq 3850 PocketPC with a Belkin Tunecast II fm transmitter to get my music. I'm actually surprised at how good this sounds, but ultimately I will be doing a full blown amp, speaker, pc install..

I'm setting up a website and I'll keep you all up to date on the progress of the build...

Cool site CavityCr33p, except I think it's missing some pics in your latest post?

Good idea to buy a second bezel, I'll have to see how much one costs for mine.. I'm thinking of putting a 7" touchscreen in my bezel, if it fits (and once the budget permits)..

I hear it's the last year Pontiac will be making the Sunfire...

Needs bigger wheels before a family of illegal imigrants sets up a home in those wheel arches.

EDIT: what engine does it have?

Scouse...you don't need to smuggle people into America from canada!!
It's only in the SOUTH that we have the whole 'imagration' problem..

Scouse Monkey, it has a 2.2 EcoTec 4 cylinder in it.

The tires on it are P195/70R14's, what size of tire can I put on it to make it look better?

Since its such a small car...I'd say 18's would be the MAX

18's? Sorry guys I'm not following you.. Do I need to buy new rims and tires or just bigger tires to fit these rims? (I dont know much about tires/rims)

Bigger rims AND bigger tires to accomidate the size increase...IMO cars with bigger rims ride smoother...it'll cost you about $800 off ebay for a whole set (rims and tires)

Just bigger tires would look like crap on stock rims...

and "18's" for "18 inches" looks like you have 13's now, lol. stock.

Check Out Tirerack.com, and go to the upgrade garage, the let you view differert rims on you car, and even let you pick the color of your car. It's not real accurate on the size though. Have fun.
