March 2003 is when I joined and July 24th 2004 is when I finished my first project
Researched and bought parts slowly
Second project obviously took much less time; install was done in a day

Joined March 2005.
Project start.. God knows... Still need to do some research, and currently buying some limited parts.
Seriously though, need to pick up the courage and knowledge to get the install done as painlessly as possible.

Let's see. I first had the idea when I bought my frist truck in June '02.
I started doing toms looking around and found this forum, joining in April '04. I bought my first part in May '05.
I need three more components to put it in the car (CPU, Power Supply and Screen). I also need WiFi & GPS.
But it's coming together....

I had built about 2 carputer revisions before I joined the forum, back I think in like 98 or 99 then I had a couple years without a carputer. With the touchscreens getting cheaper I finally got back into it.

Yeah...I'm in the same boat...I lurked for a long time and joined mp3Car then finally got to installing uh....a month ago...I am still in progress with the install. I am going to need a new PC as I set one up and then decided that I'd use it for an HTPC - you know...maybe for a week or two until I get to installing it...Bah! Here I am...and my HTPC will remain my HTPC as I am going to build yet another PC...
I have bought so much stuff and installed so little...I've gotten so many LCD and controller combos working and used none of them (well almost none - eBay has had a bunch of them ). It's getting close, though and I am almost done with the tough stuff. Once I finish the fiberglassing and bezel making, the rest should be cake!
Said that before...

Before the last great re-do of the website, I was originally here in 98/99, then my login got nixed, so i ended up joining back on '02 when i got my newest car. I had an install in my car before that back in 99, so i guess i'm just rambling because i pretty much went straight into the initial install each time that i joined the forums. however, it is working and has been for a few years now in my latest car, it is still in a state of constant upgrading/planning/etc, much like everyone's project i would guess.
