Question Soundcard Equalizer

Hi

Iīve just a short question:
Does anybody know if thereīs a 6-channel soundcard with level-adjustment and equalizer-function for each of the 6 channels ? As far as I know the creative 5.1 or Audigy Player donīt have these features.
It would save a lot of money cause my amp doesnīt have any sound-adjustment devices and I donīt want do buy another analog 6-channel equalizer.

Thanks in advance

Unhappy

Iīm just wondering if nobody canīt or wants to answer my question.
Iīve used the search option before and I can understand why you donīt reply to questions that have been answered for a hundred times but none of the shown topics dealt with this question. And youīve ansered more silly or nonsense questions than this one I think.

So whatīs up with you ?

I'll bite....

Wouldn't the equalization for each channel come in some form of software that controls the 5.1 soundcard. Have you looked for software, plugins, drivers, etc. for these different soundcards that may do what you want the card to do.

I remember seeing this done with an external sound card from event electronics, i forget the model # but it had tons of IO I think it was 8 analog outputs that could be controled seperatly, this is going back afew years but it may be worth looking into

Do you have one amp driving your entire system? I am assuming this becuase of the 6 channel configuration. If it were my install, I would use an external crossover, unless there is a good one in the amp. In that case then I would enable the amp to work off a 2 channel input, or maybe four channel if you are setup front/rear instead of high/mid/low

The problem is that the amps (5-channel for front/rear& 2-channel bridged for sub) have highpass/lowpass but nothing else.
No further equalization.
An I just thought, that there would be a card with frequency controlling for each channel and some sort of delay option to delete time-errors. I did not want to run it in 2-channel-mode even though I could use e.g. Winamps Equalizer because 5.1 Digital would not work then.
But another question was if 6-channel cards are just playing on all six channels in D.D. 5.1 mode while watching DVD or even while using Winamp.
Iīm not sure, but i thought there was some option called "pseudo 5.1" to run all 6 channels with a simple stereo signal.

I think the easiest way is to buy a 6-channel analog equalizer for 300 bucks...

I'll be writing up an AMP mod guide sometime soon. Basically, I bought a cheap amp from Best Buy, popped the sucker open and removed the daughter board containing the sound adjustment controls (gain, high-cut, low-cut, etc). Slapped the board into a homemade plexi box and wired the thing up with CAT5.
Beautiful amp controls sitting right next to my carputer keypad. I have never seen the insides of other amps, so I don't know how many others have small-ish daughter boards for the controls, though...
