Post LP3 music quick review

The lp3music is a parallel port mp3 player. The people who put this together have spent some time on it to make a really nice product. I have tried their dos player and was able to play mp3s on a 486-33 laptop without trouble. The linux drivers seem to be complete. Only complaint here is the lack of file blocking until the device is done playing (empty hardware buffer), but an e-mail they explained that the driver could not do that.

I have yet to try the Win9x/NT driver, but this is just a winamp plugin. I also plan on trying it out on a 386 to check performance on slower/older hardware.

Overall I see this as a good product for those of us that dont want to spend a lot of money on a new system, and only want to use what is laying around.

Their website can be found at lp3music.com
